My work is an integration of body centered and traditional psychodynamic modalities. My approach is relational and supportive of your wisdom and inner strengths. Using Hakomi, a mindfulness based therapy, psychological patterns and behaviors are mapped in the body. You start to develop a sense of why you do what you do, and how you can find more satisfying ways to be.

As an adjunct, I use Somatic Experiencing, a neurological approach to shock trauma, to address various areas of trauma that are then renegotiated and resolved through the acknowledgement of body sensations and release. I also draw from mainstream psychologies like self psychology, object relations, and family systems theory to integrate mind and body, melding the best of both worlds.

We explore how physiology, genetics and environment impact what we do and why we do it. As compassion for oneself is cultivated, insight is awakened and change becomes possible. I start from where you are, seeing you in relation to your whole picture, nature, nurture, genetics, brain physiology and character. Your inner resources are accessed to support change, redefine and empower your sense of self.

I facilitate individuals, couples and groups in the resolution of trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, stress, GLBT and spirituality. I am a Certified Hakomi Therapist, and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in private practice for 15 years. I also use EMDR, (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to address and resolve various types of trauma. I find it an honor to work with individuals who are committed to their growth and change.

Areas of Expertise:
You can expect a safe, supportive atmosphere where I encourage the exploration of your process through mindfulness. Together we discover how core beliefs limit your interactions in the world. I assist you in defining and setting healthy boundaries, healing old wounds and trauma, transforming limiting thoughts and behaviors,
